![]() ![]() I vote for the player-controlled staff added to the household method. Not that we had any household staff at all when I was growing up, but I did get to watch the original version of Upstairs, Downstairs in its first run back then and this entire butler setup is offensive. ![]() I'll spare all of you yet another three-screen tirade about this, but the butler is the head of household staff not a menial laborer, nanny, nor a housekeeper. Nor do they unclog toilets, do laundry, change babies, or do any of the things the game seems to expect of them. I will point out though that here in the real world, butlers don't cook multiple serving sized meals to serve to their employers. I don't know exactly what lesson EA was trying to teach us with these setups other than if you want something done right, control a sim and do it yourself or somehow acquire a simbot/plumbot to do the job properly. With some notable exceptions that we are thrilled to find when they happen and work out well, we have babysitters who do everything except pay attention to the kids in their care, maids who goof off all day long and steal things, Bonehildas who become more of a nuisance than a help, under-performing butlers, etc. Most forms of hired help (Service Sims) are a colossal joke in this game. ![]()
